When we started worrying about what to do if our Earbis didn’t come through for us we were worried we’d never find a boy good enough to fill his shoes. Then while looking around at a website I stumbled upon Eny od Krowlowych and was amazed at him and his gorgeous green eyes. Then I noticed their female was a gorgeous torbie with white and had that beautiful warm brown I love so much.
I contacted the breeder, Ewa, and found they were going to be mated and I asked to be advised when babies were born since I might be looking for a boy. Originally I had my heart set on a black tabby like his father but then the only boy was born – a beautiful blue mackerel with white. I realized he may be just what I needed! After all, what a great complement for Esenia, our silver girl whose mother is a blue smoke, and also our Darya. I just hoped he inherited his father’s eyes.
In March, Mumbai arrived after the long flight from Poland. What a boy! Not a minute out of his carrier and he was purring, loving and friendly. Also very chatty – he will talk to me all day. Mumbai is going through his teenage awkward stage and is a bit lanky but I can see the potential once he fills out and matures. He has the facial features that remind me so much of his father’s side – from Rossity Amadey and Jarapolk Sant Andre.
That brings me to what I found appealing in Mumbai from the standpoint of the lines he brings to our breeding. I am thrilled to have solid lines from Moscow in Rossity Amadey, Jarapolk Sant Andre, Danil de Lal and the gorgeous Maxim Valenvic. But I was also equally excited to have less common lines such as those from Eny’s mother Krowlewna od Krowlowych and from Fala’s mother’s side. Jacynthia z Dworka Bojara is a mix of Moscow lines with those brought from Artyzha Kaltuk.
Welcome Mumbai, now lovingly known as Mumbles for his endless chatter. Mumbles has been developing a lot and is growing to be a nice big male. At 7.5 months old he's over 10.5 lbs and still a gangly youth.
I love him as the loving kitten but can’t wait to see Mumbai the Siberian male all grown up.
