To help you understand some of the lingo we use in describing kittens and cat, here are some pictures of our Siberian kittens and cats to illustrate. Colorpoints are not included since we intentionally do not breed them and breed only traditional colors.
The N litter is all brown tabbies in varying shades. In Europe they are called black tabbies.
Darius is a brown tabby with white
The same color without the tabby patter is a solid black cat. Here we have Diesel and

Sometimes a female cat will have both the red and the black or brown color. If the cat is also a tabby, this is then called a torbie. Here we have Charlotte. She is a brown torbie with white. Unfortunately, we won't have any torbies in the near future because our 1 tortie mom left us this year. We hope to add another good girl in 2010.

Here is Jorge, a big handsome red tabby male from our very first litter. Reds are often called orange tabby
The next color we have is called blue but to the layperson is referred to as gray. However, a good blue tabby should have a definite blue undertone rather than a flat gray.

Juliet is a blue tabby and she is a powder blue! She's now all grown up and still has that pretty blue coat. Some blues look more grey but this girl has a distinct bluish tone.
Now when you add the silver to a black or blue tabby you get a black silver or blue silver tabby. This little baby is our very own Gwen at just 2 weeks. She was much darker then before all those light colored areas came in and turned her a very pale silvery color.

Now, we also have the blue torbie - a female that has both the blue and the cream (dilute form of red). In this case, Angelina is a cute little blue torbie with white.
